sometimes I get blank pages and a java script error. I use pop-up stopper, so often have to use control key to disable. I have JAVA enabled..so what is going on? My page says 'done' but the page is blank.
    Thanx.....LuckyFish

    Luckyfish,

What version of Netscape and Mozilla are you running now? You really don't need any third party popup program when using either Netscape or Mozilla.

Is the Java error occurring on specific sites, or all sites with java. Could you give me some links to check out. I want to see if it could be coding error. What is the error, and could you post it please.

To help me out in troubleshooting, could you also tell me:

Did you install the Sun Java plugin, or are you using the Java that came with your Netscape or Mozilla install
Have you by chance spoofed your user agent string
What happens if you click "Reload "
If you run ZoneAlarm, try shutting it off

Let me know, and then hopefully we can see what's going on with your problem.

    Thanks!

    Ramona :D

Okay, that's a lot of questions. Let me see.....I was running Mozilla (NetZero is my ISP) and was getting a lot of pop ups. I installed pop-up stopper, and it worked pretty well. I just switched back to Netscape 7.1, and uninstalled Mozilla. I have always had the problem, as far as I can remember--but only on certain pages. I don't think I ever installed a java program (Sun??). When I hit reload.....page still blank. Sometimes, it doesn't even say java script error (I think)..it's just blank. Can't think of any particular sites right now...but I remember seeing your post yesterday, Ramona about the radar (weather site)..Mine was blank...no radar! I hope I answered all the questions....Oh, I always have zone alarm on....why disable it? Wouldn't that defeat the purpose? Any ideas greatly appreciated! :)LuckyFish

    Hi Luckyfish,
To reiterate, you really don't need a third party popup program. Uninstalling the program may benefit you in more ways than one. As I recall you were a little short on HD space. If specific sites are a problem then go into your Preferences | Privacy & Security | Popup Windows
Click on the "Allowed Sites" tab to ensure those sites are not listed. If they are, then remove those sites. You can also add scripts to the prefs.js file to disallow specific site popups.
Disable it to see if ZoneAlarm is blocking the Java site. Don't disable it permanently, but if those sites loads with ZA disabled, then there is a setting in ZA which is inhibiting the loading of the Java pages.

If Java is enabled in Preferences | Advanced and no joy, then I would recommend installing the Sun Java Plugin, Version 1.4.1_04.
The download should automatically detect the Netscape plugins folder, and you will see these additional plugin files:
    NPJava11.dll
    NPJava12.dll
    NPJava13.dll
    NPJava32.dll
    NPJPI141.dll (or similar to)
    NPOJI610.dll

    Once installed, then go to:
    Start | Settings | Control Panel | Java Plug-in
    In the Java Control Panel
Click on the "Browser" Tab to enable Netscape
Click on the Advanced tab to ensure the path to the Java plugin is correct:
    C:\Program Files\Java\J2re1.4.......

Let us know if you have more questions.
