When i go to the folder contaning my pictures, the files are there but they all have a blank icon, not the standard picture icon from XP. I was wondering how i could change this back. Right-clicking doesnt provide the choose icon option. Any help is appreciated.

You can use TweakUI, it has a Repair Icons utility...
Are those the only files that have lost their icons?

Change it in the Registry. Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\jpegfile\defaulticon and change it to whatever you want it to be. If you wanted it to be the classic icon from Internet Explorer, you'd put C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\IEXPLORE.EXE,8 in the value for the default icon.

I just ended up using System Restore and it did the job.
