I downloaded Sun's new Java machine, the version 2.0. The old ones had an Exit option on the right click menu when you right clicked on the coffee cup icon in the system tray. This one only has an option to hide the icon. Is there a way to actually exit the Java or is there somewhere I can get the old version, since it worked fine?

Why would you want to exit it? It doesn't take up that much memory or resources. Plus, if it's being loaded, obviously the page needs it. But as far as I know there isn't a way to exit it. You can close the browser when you're done with the page that requires Java, and that will close the console.

Well it's just that when Java apps load, the HD makes a lot of noise, which makes me nervous. How much RAM does Java take up? Resources aren't an issue with XP.

Sorry, my mistake. I thought it was 2.0 but it was 1. something or other.
