windows 98 se windows media player

    Hi
    I have WMP9 installed in windows 98 se. Often when I click on web site audio or video up pops wmp 6. How can I get rid of WMP6?

    Just a thought here but the next time WMP6 opens select View>Options>Formats (or something similar) and uncheck all the file formats. Now your WMP9 should take over.

    It should but it may not.

    I ran into this when I first installed WMP9. It did not pick up all formats.

    I also I ran into a problem when I unistalled Real PLayer.

    I had go to WMP9 and reset it to get it to work properly.

    Next to check to make sure.
