    Hello,
I am using Netscape 7.02 and have random success when using the mail filters in the e mail program. It seems to work on the some of the email with the filtered word. Any duplicate mail and some new mail from a different sender's gets through. I've checked the mail that does get through and have found words that I have filters built for. I believe I covered most of the bases by building individual mail filters for both the "subject" and "body" and using "contains" that addresses most of the spam associated with viagra, size, rx's, doctors, vicodin, insurance, etc., and the many spelling tricks used. Obviously I can't stop them all but what's going on with the filters I've built?
    Thanks
    denny

    Hi denny,

Netscape 7.1, and Mozilla 1.5 both have "Junk" filters. You can mark the type of email you describe as "Junk ". Once you have Junk Mail trained, the messages will automatically be placed in the Junk Folder, and sent to the Trash folder in the amount of time you specify, e.g., three days, a week, etc.

Two pages that will help you better understand the new Junk Mail feature:

How to Fight Spam with Netscape, Mozilla

Another good way to catch spam is to mark as spam, anything that doesn't contain your email address, your name, etc. I'm hoping other users will post their tips.
