I never boot from the floppy or CD unless I need to.

I do not either. But I do believe strongly in backups.

I do boot from the Floppy and my Bootable CD once a week. I do this just to make sure that my SUD has not decided to go South on me.

Last week I found that two out of three Floppy SUDs did not work. ( New ones made _

And I boot from the CD once in a while to make sure my Norton Utilities for DOS have not gone South either.

And I make sure I can access the HD from both.

And I still have to pray that they work when or if really need them. I do find the CD to be more reliable.

If this gives you the Idea that I do not fully trust Windows ( any version ) then you have the right idea.

I and not be sure whether it is Windows or BillyBob as the user that I do not have faith in.

A little of both maybe ?

Also I need to make sure the DOS disks work properly JUST IN CASE I need NAV from DOS.

Have some valuable Flopies?? Read this!

Last Christmas my wife bought me a magnetic paperclip holder for my desk. I promptly filled it with paperclips and sat it down next to the plastic case holding my most important boot flopies.

Took weeks and help of a friend to figure out why none of the flopies could be read, could be formatted and written, read ok, then put away in case. Next insert NADA. Ah, the simple things in life.
