My son the "Expert" advised me to update my Bios, 2 year old MB. My system operates fine as it is. Should I update or leave alone? Thank you.

Not an expert on BIOS updates but general wisdom says "if it ain't broke, don't fix it " when it comes to the BIOS. If the computer is running fine leave it alone.:)

    Agree with that :)

Most BIOS updates are aimed at giving support for new CPU's which have become available since the original mobo was issued. Current mobo's will have a later BIOS - if you've not changed the CPU leave well alone - and if you have and everything works to your satisfaction the same advice applies.

Check your BIOS manufacturer's web site. Some udgrades are worthwhile even though it works now. Some BIOS upgrades are for support of hardware not installed on your computer and will not improve anything. The only way to be sure is by reading the details on a case by case basis.
