problem deleting file in Mmy documents "

I have a file in the "my documents" folder that I am having trouble deleting. I have tried to delete, move, and change the file name, but always get the message "file name too long, or invalid ". Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi - Welcome to the Board :)

Try deleting the file in Safe Mode.

And if that fails, boot to a dos prompt and manually delete it from there. Type "cd\mydocu~1" (dos doesn't like spaces, so uses abberviations), then type " del <filename>" where filename is the name of the file you want to delete. If the name is longer than 8 characters, or has a space, enter the first 6 characters, or all the characters before the first space (whichever is less) followed by ~1, and then the extension (.doc, . xls, whatever)
