I operate Win XP (Home) on a standalone PC with no other users. I am, of course, the sole administrator and there are no other user accounts.

How do I get Win XP to cease challenging me for a password? Although I have no password, so hitting "Enter" is enough to continue, I would like to eliminate this annoyance.

    Thanx!

    Here's oneway:
    Tweakui fo r XP.....
    http://www.dougknox.com/xp/tips/xp_autologon_home.htm

This is microsofts way editing the registry:
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;Q315231&ID=KB;EN-US;Q315231&

NOTE*On the bottom of the above, taking about 4 or 5 lines, is the runline commands for setting this via "control userpasswords2 ".

Tweakui is easier than the manually editing the registry and more useful than the runline fix. It may have a few other useful tweaks you may wish to take advantage of.

    Another way .

Start > Control Panel > Network Connections , right click on your ISP & select Properties .

Click on Networking & all you need in this Window is Dial-Up-Adaptor & TCP/IP.
    Delete the others .
Ignore the warning message about not being complete . That's OK .
If you ever need to Network , you can add them on again .

    Important reading .
