I have Microsoft Outlook 2002 and want to know how I can add a password to my personal folders.

When you right click on a folder, under Properties/Administration, it does give you the option of password etc.. but it is dimmed and so I cannot access it.

I just wanna know so I can store confidential info in Outlook under protection of a password.

    Any ideas?

Did you create your folders this way (from outlook 2002 help file):

Create a new data file and move or copy items to it
On the File menu, point to New, and then click Outlook Data File.

Under Types of storage , click Personal Folders file (.pst) and then click OK.

In the File name box, type a name for the file, or leave the default, and then click OK.

In the Name box, type a display name for the .pst folder, or leave the default.

Select any other options you want, and then click OK. (If you are creating a .pst file, you can add a password of up to 15 characters. If you select the Save this password in your password list check box, make a note of the password in case you need to open the .pst on another computer.)

The name of the folder associated with the data file appears in the Folder List. To view the Folder List, from the View menu, click Folder List. By default, the folder will be called Personal Folders .

Drag any item from your current folders to the new folder. Press CTRL while dragging to copy items instead of moving them.

Thanks a lot for that, really helpful.

What I wanted to know is, is there a way to password a single file within the personal folder?

Secondly, I downloaded SP1 for MS Outlook 2002 and when it started installing, it asked for the original Outlook with frontpage CD to be entered, which I did. Then it said that C:\config.msi or PT2A or something like that had already been installed and wouldnt let me go any further except for cancelling. Any ideas?

Thirdly, is there any way for Outlook to be minimised in the System Tray for quick and easy access?

The third one: I ripped off another thread a long time ago. No I haven't done it but the source was good.

To make Outlook 2002 go to the Windows system tray when you minimize it ... Make a backup of the Windows registry, then go to this key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Outlook\Preferences

Add a new DWORD value named "MinToTray" and give it a value of 1.

I don't understand the second one. I just use CD1 and sometimes have had to include another CD, whenever it asks for proof. I have Office 2000 Premium and Office XP.
