    This just started about a week ago and it is getting annoying. After I complete a search and get the results I pick the URL that seems to have what I want. When I click on the URL IE opens and goes Bink before it opens the window. I go to the the right site but the sound makes me think there was and error somewhere. It happens every time I click on a searched URL. Where can I turn this off?

    I'll take a stab at this. My first guess:

    Is this a google search? Do you have the new google toolbar with the popup stopper built in? Google options turn this sound off or on. The sound happens when google was successful blocking a popup.

    Yes this is a Google search. Google is my home page. No I did not install the Google tools. I use PopUpCop and I don't have any sounds listed on the sound tab.

    Popupcop does have sound customization. May be based on version. I dunno ". Have a peek:

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=popupcop+sound

    ===============
    Have you looked in your sound scheme settings to see if anything looks like or sounds like your "bink "?

    Does this only happen on a search surf?

    Is this sound unique? Do a file search for *.wav [on your harddrive] and see if that leads to the culprit.

    Start - Settings - Control Panel - Sounds. Scroll to Windows Explorer section and ensure that no sound is associated with Start Navigation.

    Well guys I finally think I got it. I found out that I got it even when I started IE. Not every time but usually 3 out of 5 times. Brett, you gave me an Idea. I went to /Windows/Media and checked each sound until I found the one I heard. Then I went into Sound properties and found the item that used that sound. I only found 1, Default Beep, and changed it to none. Now I don't get the Bink anymore. Thanks.

    Oh no.......I'm not picking up this gauntlet.

    My wit is much to dull, the brain cells don't function as quickly as they did, I'm a careless speller and I'm smart enough to know when I'm out matched.

    Besides OLDSALTY only heard you cause you typed louder than I. :D

    "Well guys ~Thanks " From previous post. Sorry Ann, in Brett's message he started out, "Start-Settings-Control Panel - Sounds. ", This is what gave me the idea to check all my sounds. I still don't know how this started. I have 3 pc's all with WinXp-Home and this is the only one that started to Bink. So, Is this better? Thanks Ann & Brett
