Our manager ordered a new computer for a workstation and ordered Windows XP. We have a server and the other workstations have Windows 98. Our Networking administrator is telling us we need to buy Windows 2000 and install it on the computer that has the XP version because it is not compatible with the 98 version. This doesn't seem right. Why can't we use one of the Windows 98 disk and install it on the XP computer if that is the case? Why is XP not compatible with 98?

    network

Tell your boss to get a new network adminstator. Anyone trained in networking can set these up rather easily. While at first look winxp may apear to NOT be compat with win98 there are slick work arounds that an 8th grader can handle. Don't be fooled:)
I'm networking winxp home ed: over to win98se using the win98 "netbui" protocol that does NOT come installed on winxp:D
