Want new Joystick

I just found out that my MS Sidewinder is no longer supported by MS for XP so I want a new one.

Any recommendations /?

Logitech has always made well-built joysticks, IMO

The Logitech Extreme Digital 3D has been my joystick of choice for a couple of years now. I think I only paid about $35 when I bought it a couple of years ago. You can see their entire line of joysticks here.

I went out and bought that very joystick BUT on installation, WIN XP told me it would not install correctly because it didn't (and now I forget the exact terminology) work with XP even tho the box declared that it would. I was not able to properly install it even tho I was allowed to bypass that warning.

I finally went thru the entire install process but on re-boot, it was not found. This process took about AN HOUR also. This computer is only weeks old with its XP home on it.

Not sure what to suggest - could have been a bad Joystick - mine has worked flawlessly on my XP & 98 dual boot system in both usb and game port.

I do know that the joystick software requires admin rights to install correctly.
