    Home Page Change

I apparently visited a shady website that has now taken over my home page upon connecting to the internet. I have run SpyBot and have gone to tools - Internet options and have changed my home page back to my original ISP. But the home page Global Search keeps showing up upon connecting. Any other fixes?? Terry

If you want to fix your homepage problems, through your registry, the method of resetting your homepage is here and the method to lock your homepage so that it will not be taken over by the nasties is here

LEEWA42--Thanks for posting back. Glad to hear the good news!!
P.S. Scan with AdAware about twice a month and just before you do click on "Check for Updates Now "to keep the reference files up to date.

    Spybot

    Hello,

I also run Spyware Blaster with Spybot(you'll see in Spybot's program they recommend this). It has some good options including the homepage lock. Try it out. I also run Lavasoft's Adaware Professional and between all three of these things work well. I experience minimal popups (although some still exist - I also use Popup Stopper Pro surfing when I need more popup protection). These programs combined will not control every single problem, but it does a **** good job for most spyware BS. Spyware interference has become as bad as virus infestation. It is a real problem! I work on many peoples computer and most of the time it is spyware that is causing the most problems. Hope this helps.

PS always beware of what you allow these programs to erase. When in doubt - leave it. Do further testing to ensure it doen't remove necessary files you need to run certain installed programs. This takes a bit of detective work, but it is necessary.

    P. S. Be sure to use SpyBot's immunize features.
