Just wondering what the solution is to this problem. I actually saved 2 .jpg pictures onto the computer and then shut down windows... only to find that the next time that I tried to start up the computer Millenium Edition would not load.

Is the solution to somehow go onto the computer and delete the pictures to make more room on the hard drive?

The hard drive light does light up when Windows is loading and it just stalls once it reaches my background page...

How do I solve this?! Please help!! I am using an HP Pavillion laptop... low end PIII.

Why do you suspect it's a full HD? It's not very likely. Windows would have complained long before (unless you have actively disabled the "full disk" warning.

I suspect there's something actively seizing up.

Try booting with the ctrl key pressed, you'll see the boot menu, select "step by step confirmation" and see where the hangup is. make a note of it.

Then, reboot likewise, select "Safe Mode ", and if you reach a Windows desktop, go start->run->type msconfig->enter

A configuration utility will start. Select the startup tab, and see if the culprit is listed and if so disable it.

    Then try to boot normally.

    Good luck! Let us know...

Yes, there is way to delete, through dos. What folder, name of files, and do you have a boot floppy?
You will need one to access dos, as ME will not start giving you a command prompt only.
Go to Bootdisk's if you do not have one. Note, copying the downloaded file onto a floppy will not work. You must double click the file while it is on the hard drive with a floppy inserted into the drive. It will then make one for you.
