I have an odd problem here. I bought a new disk and installed windows XP Home version on it. After the usual enjoyable experience of installing windows, I installed Netscape 7.1. I then double click on the icon and ... nothing. I double click it again and again. I go to the actual executable and try to run it ... nothing. I try the same with Netscape mail ... nothing. I uninstall then reinstall it several times and I always get the same result... nothing. I removed the registry info and anything else relating to netscape and still ... nothing. I have an old version of netscape 4.79 so I installed that and it works fine. I have another disk in my system which has 7.1 on it (windows 98SE OS and no I don't run the two disks at the same time) and it works great. I run 7.1 on my computer at work (win2000 OS) and it works great. Its almost like there is a popup blocker running on my computer, except this one block netscape 7.1 from running. I do not get any error or warning messages when trying this. Anyone have any ideas? It is probably something simple that I am missing, but for the life of me I don't know what it could be. I am using the ZoneAlarm firewall on both disks (same versions). I have disabled it on the XP disk also and still get the same result.

    Welcome to the Forum, mxman333!

    Hi mxman333,

Your problem is a familiar one for Windows XP users. I have set up a page which will give you details of the problem, and a workaround:
Netscape Won't Start "¢â€¢ Nothing Happens!

Post back with any further questions.

    Ramona :D
