sillydog web site question

I need to download NS 7.02 for wife's win 95 system. Been tryin to get striped dowm version from sillydog's site but cant download. Get message 404 page not fouind error and ftp dont work. If ths site is undergoning changes, anyone know when it will be ready??

Tried link, same results. The FTP link ftp://ftp.sillydog.org/pub/sd/ns7/navigator702_sd701.exe gives me a download box but it downloads a 0k file. The http://sillydog.org/files/navigator702_sd701.exe link is 404 error

I don't understand what you mean. In the last message you that the ftp downloads a Ok file. what you mean? The ftp is always better than the http for downloads.

I checked it, and mirror 4 was working. Make sure that you look at the entire page. 7.02 is toward the bottom.

 

another slight problem & 0k explanation

THanks for replys. I did get an email from sillydog's site, got link to DL NS 7.02 and did fine.

On comp I installed NS 7.02 on, it will still use 4.78 (i think) for mail. However, when I opened mail to check a link I sent, it said Netscape was no longer my default browser. So I clicked the option to make it the default, well, silly me, it was saying the OLD netscape was no longer my default and I mistakenly made it the default when I launch html links from 4.** mail. How do I get it to launch the NS 7.02 browser instead of the old one??

Now to explain the ftp downloading 0k as I said in above post. What I meant was it was downloading a 0 k file, nothing. Dont ask me what that was about I have no idea.

On your mailto: problem:

The "mailto:" links will open the system default mail client. Same goes for news. There is nothing you can do to make links from within Messenger open in a browser other than Communicator.

If you want to make Netscape 7.1 the default browser:

Edit | Preferences | Advanced | System
Enable these three settings:
HTML
http
https

This should be all that's necessary to make Netscape 7 the default browser.
