I no I posted this before but I must be explaining it wrong its not my taskbar it a shut down window I get when I go to shut down I don't get the standard window I use to get. someone at the computer shop said its sounds like its something to do with Networking . I get a Microsoft window and I have to open the down arrow and choose what i want to do shut down,or restart, or stand by, or hibernate. now my standard window was just a chance of shuting down. or restarting thats the window I want to get back to .
    thank you
    Bob

Enable the Welcome screen in Control Panel > User Accounts > Change the way users log on and off. You need administrator rights to see that option.

You ARE an angel. I'm glad Bob asked the question, as only 1 of my 4 computers was like Bob's, in that I'd have to 'drop-down' to get choices at shutdown. Now this one is like the rest. Thanks!
