is there a limit to the preview "thumbnail" view in explorer?

some of my directories have say, 30-40 files in then and when i try to view them with the thumbnail option, the dreaded alert box pops up with the close button as the only option after scrolling down the page a bit.

is this a problem with win2000?..or just my machine. i swear my fingers cripple computers.

What are the specifics of your installation?

Patch Level, Hotfixes, other installed software?

I would say that it is your machine.
It is very unusual for explorer to display errors of your situation.
I would apply the latest Service Pack 4 and take it from there.
If this does not work, I would try a re-installation of your OS.

    Regards
