    Hello All,

Prior to upgrading to Windows 2003 server, I was able to print from the workstation regardless of whether the server was online or down. (I have a print server card installed in the printer and connected to the computer through a router) . Since installing Windows Server 2003, I am now unable to accomplish that same task, namely print from the workstation when the server machine is down. When I was using Windows 2000 Server, I installed the printer using the HP network install wizard.

Is there a way for me to duplicate the above, namely print from the workstation while the server is down under Windows Server 2003?

If you have a jet direct card in the printer, it will have an IP address assigned to it that the server uses. You can configure your workstation to print to this printer directly using the printer wizard and printing to an IP.
Configured a local printer, and then add a standard IP port.
