Word 2000 and Apple or Mac

    Is it possible to uae Word 2000 to open and save text files created on a Mac or Apple pc?

    I don't know about *.txt files, but, AFAIK Rich Text Files (*.rtf) can be read/saved by both PC and Mac/Apple

    I don't want to open & save text file on Apple or Mac. I want to save them in Word 2000 on a pc.

    I just read your reply again. Are you saying that text files created on Apple or Mac be saved in rtf and then opened in Word?

    I know that a rich text file saved from Word 2000 on a PC can be opened and read on a Mac. I am guessing that the reverse is also true. rtf files seem to be fairly universal as regards word processors and platforms (PC, Mac).

    I would think that a txt file written and saved on a Mac can be read in Word 2000 on a PC. txt files are pretty basic ASCI, rtf files preserve formatting, etc - or so I believe. Never used a Mac and don't have access to one to try it out. Give it a go :)
