I am trying to upgrade from XP Home to XP Pro. I get through the first part of the setup and then when it reboots, I get a File "vga.sys" corrupt error. Setup fails. HELP!

    Hello ms. ed1

"vga.sys" is a video driver component in:
    \WINDOWS\System32\drivers
    \WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386

This is in the "core" OS files.

Try the sfc command to replace them: http://www.windowsbbs.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=20877&highlight=repair

Also see if there are any driver updates in MS update.

Plugging vga.sys into a search gets these results http://mysearch.myway.com/jsp/GGmain.jsp?searchfor=vga.sys&st=site

But in skimming some of them, don't seem to aply to XP.

    Regards - Charles
