    ******************************
    Windows2000, Service Pack 4

    IE 6.0.2800.1106
    SP1, plus 4 hotfixes installed
    ******************************
When I go to a page with a Flash intro, all I see is an empty box!

I'm trying to install the Flash browser add on. Everytime I go to the page with the "Install Now" button, when i click it, I go to the next page, where the browser stops, I see no other buttons or prompts that are supposed to pop up, and no data is being moved to or from my ISP !!
That next page says "When you see the installation completion movie above and text below, your installation was successful. "
However it looks like some flash content placeholders are present but no content and no "Security Warning" dialog.

I had Norton Personal Firewall installed, I removed that and Spyware Blaster and Spyware Guard. - re booted...still can't install Flash Player.

A friend installed Flash 5 on my PC for creating Flash content to try to fix the problem and Still no Flash download capabilities, I even tried different ISPs.

I re-set all settings to default in Internet Explorer. Nothing

Once I had Netscape 7 installed and the Java 2 Runtime Environment SE v1.4.1_02 is still present on the machine. (cannot seem to UNinstall that).

The Macromedia page that should give me the "Security Warning" box is:
    http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/triggerpages_mmcom/flash.html

Once again, this is where my browser stops and no security warning Ever pops up.

I get the Security Warning (Yes/No thing) for SHOCKWAVE, but NOT for FLASH!!

    Would appreciate any help!

    Thank you

    1. Any antivirus script blocking?
Script Blocking was checked off in NAV 2003, unchecked and re-booted.

    2. macromedia sites in IE restricted sites zone?
No and Everything in IE set to Default or LOW.

    3. firewall blocking scripting?
    NAV Firewall uninstalled, re-booted.

    4. tries windows update to see is shockwave available there?
No, there are only 5 updates available:

---Recommended Update for Windows 2000 (822831)
Download size: 243 KB, 1 minute
Some driver installation programs don’t work on Windows 2000 (W2K) after you install either Critical Update QFE 813044 or W2K Server SP4. The installation does not succeed and you receive an incorrect error that no drivers are available for the device.

---Microsoft Windows Journal Viewer (Windows 2000)

    ---Microsoft .NET Framework version 1.1

    ---Root Certificates Update

    ---Windows Media Player 9 Series*

OK, since my last post, I have installed:

---Recommended Update for Windows 2000 (822831)
    and
    ---Root Certificates Update

Still not able to Download and install Flash Browser Plug In.

Could there be anything in the Windows Services that may be blocking this. I know I set some services to MANUAL...but I can Download SHOCKWAVE....????
