I've had a major problem with my computer so I've gotten on my son's to post for help and I've discoovered a new problem. So far as best I can tell it only happens when I'm sitting at this site. After 5 - 10 minutes I get the message that IE has performed an illegal action and will shut down. Sometimes it's followed by the Explorer doing the same. Any ideas anyone?

To begin with, visit this page and then run IE's Repair Tool (the article refers to IE5, but holds good for 6 too).

Next time this happens, copy and post the exact and complete error message.

    ran the repair

I ran the repair and came back to this site and got two illegal actions at once. (btw, I left the computer up all night with the ie set on yahoo with no problem at all. It seems to be just this site.) These were for the Explorer:

    Two observations:
#1 Since I ran the repair on ie I'm not getting the illegal action on ie. Only on the Explorer. However sometimes after clicking ok another message comes up and tells me that it was ie.

#2 I timed it and it's just like clockwork. Exactly 5 minutes on this site and it shuts down.

Try this link. Did you visit the Doxdesk page (linked to above) and, if so, was anything found?

I went to the site and followed the directions. It never really said anything was found. I came back here and I can only stay 5 minutes before I get the illegal action. Any other ideas?

try Adaware or SpyBot. links are in my signature.
Get the first one if unsure of yourself, get second if you consider yourself a somewhat experienced PC user..
I use both. Both are (free)
