OK I asked this before and the oly reply I got directed me to my local library which is a fair comment.

But, i'm looking for a decent Win 2000 server book.

Can anyone reccomend a decent book there are so many out there.

I don't want anything too basic , Thanks.

What kind of good stuff have you found with your favorite search engine?

The built in help files can come in handy.

I know, I do a lot of reading on the web n=but the advantage of books is that they are structured and its also a lot easier to flick through the pages of a book than through a help file or web page.

I really want something I can read on the train or at home, not in front of the screen.

Can someone please just tell me if there are any decent books around?

I have looked elsewhere and even if i hadn't so what! I like to read books please can someone reccomend a book.I don't want to spend £30 on a book for it to be a waste.

    Thanks.

I haven't done any searching for this but from past experience, O'Reilly has always put together just the level of book you seem to want and I have been completely satisfied with their publications.

I'd suggest a google for O'Reilly windows 2000 and see what you find. You will probably find that any good 2K Server book will also have quite a bit of AD information though since the two are pretty well tied together.

    Thanks Newt,

This is a good site, you can read all the books online too before purchase.

However, whilst they have books like DHCP on Win 2000 Server and DNS on Win 2000 Server they don't have a book to cover 2000 server as a whole.

Seems they've moved on to 2003.Would most of that apply to 2000?

I don't know how much of a change they've made to the OS.

    Any other suggestions?

    Cheers.

Scratch that, Ijust looked further into the site, theres a link to safari books.

They review a whole load of books and rate then so you've some idea what you're buying.

    Thanks Newt.
