I would like to be able to prevent anyone, other than me, from being able to add or delete programs from my home computer.
    I am using Win98.

Is there any way to set up a password access to this function or any program I could purchase that would allow me to do this?

Hi IonaMom - welcome to the Board :)

There is a method here to remove entries from the Add/Remove programs list completely.

Not quite what you asked for - but close :D

AFAIK, it cannot be done. There are workarounds (such as Pete's suggestion or even limiting CP access) but even an inexperienced user could easily find a workaround to the workaround!

IonaMom06--As far as preventing deletion, it is possible to "lock" folders containing the files of a program

However, since I have not tried it, I do not know if you can use the programs so locked without unlocking. If not, it would be rather cumbersome to have to unlock each time.
