When I attempt to run Windows Update I get the "Administrators Only" message from MS. Thier instruction to use "Run As" hasn't worked as I have no option but the "Owner" user that I am currently running. The user accounts screen tells me that this user has admin rights. I have looked at the permissions in the windows update portion of the registry and followed the instructions I found on another site to enable full control. I have not been able to get it to accept full control for the Creator/Owner user or change that user from "subkeys only. "

I don't know if I'm on the right track and I have run out of non-violent ideas. Any suggestions?

    Didn't work

That is the point where I started to sense trouble. I tried that procedure repeatedly and it did not work. I did notice that I could not get the creator/owner user to read "This key and Subkeys." Instead I could only get it to read "Subkeys only." Suspicious, but, I don't know if that is actually a problem.

I also tried accessing update after removing my firewall/router to make sure it was not a network security issue as it hints at the MS site. Other suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks Jim
