Hey all - did a Google search and found your kewl site! :) It's the aces so far...

Did a search for METODA.EXE - and got no results -- so thought I'd do a quick post... Was writing a chick from overseas and in her last mail she attached the following executable - METODA.EXE

I have searched the net and only found 3 references to it - but the language from these pages, I don't even recognize, so can't translate - One guy even has it as a D/L on his main home page - so don't think it's malicious - but could be wrong.

Of course I've scanned it and then even tried running it (It has 11 files in it) - so I am dumbfounded (and just plain 'ol dumb!)

Anyone have a clue??? Or point me in the direction of finding out more about it!?

    Thanks

    Booomer

You might want to ask her about it.

I did the same searching you did and can't even be sure what language the pages are. Google didn't offer to translate any except one that no longer exists. russian to english online translations returned nothing.

I did download and run one item that had a name ending with metoda.exe and it extracted a word document - so it behaved just like winzip if you choose to make a self-extracting file. Couldn't make heads or tails out of the word doc either. :)

    Thanks Newt

Ya, that is what I did and ran across too - It's a real mystery - hence my posting the Q on here!?? :D

Either way, like you, couldn't figure out the language so am up a creek... Ran all virus ad-ware and spyware - and none of them pukes at it - so I dunno? Mystery for the ages...

Oh, why I am posting (DOH!) I DID write her back (she's Russian) and has no clue... Doesn't know how it got attached (she uses the internet cafe) so Lord only knows what she's picked up...

Anyone have the site link to McAfee or Symantic where you can "sumbit a file "? (or any other resource?)

I've deleted it from my system - as well as search for an other associated files till I figure out what the Hell it is!!!?

Thanks for the quick reply and thoughts!!

    Boomer

PS: How do I add my avitar on here??? Didnt see that option in my profile setup page?????

The language is Slovakian - just in case anyone wanted to know :)

Entered *Kosice* into the search - it is a city in the Slovak republic.

    Regards - Charles
