My neighbor's HP Pavilion 7850 stopped coming on when you press the power button. I removed, the modem, nic, hard drives, CD-ROM, DVD, and floppy, then I tried to turn on the power. No luck. I picked up another power supply from a near by computer shop. No Luck. I need help from here. Any one have any ideas?

When the same thing happened to my HP 7850 it turned out to be a problem with the mother board. It was replaced, not by me, and has been working fine since then.

I think you are right. The owner said that it stopped working after a storm. So I think he will have to replace the M/B.
