I thought the subject was British not English culture.

Us Brits live in a Kingdom of four Nations

    British/English
    British/Scottish
    British/Welsh
    British/Irish

Where The Isle of Man (British/Manx?) and the Channel Islands figure I am not sure.

I was in London today at Notre Dame University - an outstaion of a New York Academy - it is round the corner from Nelson on his column, round the corner from the Canadian High Commission (Embassy), and round the corner from the Texas Embassy. Now there is an interesting legal conundrum, but one I can understand being also British/Geordie by birth and British/Yorkshire by adoption.

Now that is complicated, but just remember:

We Brits live in a Kingdom of four Nations

    British/English
    British/Scottish
    British/Welsh
    British/Irish

And the Thunderbirds were certainly British.

The Island is a self-governing Crown Dependency over which Lizzie Windsor holds the title Lord of Mann. Tho' geographically in the middle of the UK, the Island is not actually part of the UK but we Manx do nonethless hold British Citizenship. Similarly, tho' geographically part of Europe, the Island is neither a member nor associate member of the European Union but does, under the terms of Protocol 3 to (peculiarly) the United Kingdom's Treaty of Accession, benefit from rights of movement and trade with other member states without being limited or restricted by the Union rules which apply to member or associate member states.

    Clear.

Oops. I have no idea how that happened ;)
