IE 5.5SP2 vs IE 6SP1 (Win98SE Users)

Gianni-- I have Win98FE and IE6SP1 and they seem to run reasonably well. Can't say I see much difference between IE6 and IE5.5 as far as running is concerned. However, IE6 has more comprehensive Security/Privacy settings. And there was one bug in the Outlook Express that came with IE5.5 (concerning Inserting images in OE email) that was cleared up.
Too bad Eschelman does not give some specifics about the problems he is aware of. His page on IE MSKB articles does not seem to show many problems specific to IE6SP1 and Win98

I have no problems running Outlook Express 6 and IE 6 on a clean install of Win98. The problems encountered were encountered when running a Compaq OEM version of Win98.

 

Gianni--Thanks for the links to Eschelmann's comments. I feel he really did not back up the rather sweeping statement he made about incompatibility between IE6 and Win98. A couple of anecdotes was all.
So far rcerrato and I say there is not an obvious problem. Maybe more will chime in.
I assume you already have IE5.5 Sp2. If not you can get it here
