How can I stop the welcome Windows logo from coming on the screen when I start up? It is taking entirely too long. Thanks!!

    Hi Eddie

To hide the Welcome Screen look here - under w = Welcome Screen
    http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_abc.htm

I somehow doubt that that will speed up the boot as it is likely that Windows continues to load 'behind' the screen.

    Let us know. please.

I disabled it (the black one, not the blue one) temporarily to see if any information on the boot was hidden behind that screen.
Nothing was hidden but that could be a different setting to get to see that.
It had no effect on boot time.
