McV###.tmp files

I've also been having this problem. When the file starts loading you can watch it grow before your eyes. I did not get a notice of a patch or update. I went to the McAfee site and it went on about loading a couple of zipped files but it didn't do any good. I'm going to contact their customer service but does anyone have any updates?

Once I found out McAfees was causing the problem, I disabled the wormstopper feature and that fixed the problem. I've received many auto updates since then but am hesitant to enable it again. Do you allow auto updates or are you getting them yourself?

 

I was running the updates manually and switched to automatic which I found I didn't like so went back to manual. How do you disable the wormstopper. I know since that update went in many emails I try to send get stopped until I give permission to go ahead. Thanks.

Open McAfee
Click on "Configure VirusScan Options "

Under Active Shield tab, click "Advanced "
Click on the wormstopper tab

Uncheck "Enable Wormstopper "
