Is there any way of turning off the annoying "bloop" sound that's played when certain sites are visited? It's driving me nuts! :)

Start, settings, control panel, sounds. Then turn off what you don't want.

Tools > Internet Options > Advanced - uncheck 'Play sounds in web pages'?

Aleekat pointed you in the right direction. Scroll down to the Windows Explorer section and uncheck "Start Navigation ".

EDIT: Also look at whether a popup blocker or download manager could be to blame.
