I have about 3-4 computers in the same area and in a very small smace and I am starting to have a problem with dust and I want to know if there is some sort of small air filter that I could buy that would keep the dust to a minimum. The dust isn't only inside the PC's but outside as well. Also would there be a small air filter that would be able to fit inside a case to keep dust in there down? I think that would be a pretty cool idea. Please help out in any way you can! I can send pictures if you want to see the space.

    Hi a

I've read about installing filters, you could probably get Air Conditioning filter material and cut pieces to fit over the intake holes. Myself, I would look at doing a regular cleaning of the insides of the cases. This would overcome the problem of the filters blocking up and the airflow within the case being restricted (the filters will reduce the flow of air to some extent anyway).
I have read about vacuuming inside the case, but dry air shooting down plastic tubes would worry me about electrostatics.
I take my cases outside and blow them out. If there is dust stuck in heatsinks then I will remove the fan and gently brush them clean.

Here's a rockin' product that I always put in my rigs. Here's a nice pic of it. It comes with it's own dust shield which you can easily blow out with compressed air. It's quiet too.

As far as dust getting in, some people recommend putting filters made of panty hose in front of your fans. They'd be difficult to get at though to clean. Whatever filter material you use, it had better be thin and porous or it will greatly cut down on airflow.

I recommend blowing your case out with compressed air rather than vaccuuming it out.

Forgot to mention, it takes up one of your 5.25" bays. I actually use it with my hard drive mounted directly behind it to cool the drive. It works wonders. But you can use it simply as an air intake.

ok now that I have inside the case taken kare of, I need to figure out how you keep the dust on the outside (around where all the cords are) from being so dense. It seems about every week I can rub a thick layer of dust off. this place doesnt get much airflow so would it help it I put some sort of small fan here?
