quite some time since i last posted.
after formating my PC few months back, i did not install any games or warez that require directx till recent i installed a game that requried dx8.0a or above. i downloaded all 8.0a, 8.0b and 9.0b. dx8.0 doesnt work for winNT. it didnt work when i tried installing them thru cd-roms with dx included. i cant seem to install or update the system files after the second phase update. got stuck on this ap....sys. my friend told me that i am able to uninstall my current version of dx and reinstall the new one. i found an empty directx folder in c:\program files and nothing to uninstall it. i am using dx7.0 currently.
error msg: DirectX is unable to copy a required file.
    advice anyone?
