I am having problems installing my network adapter card in windows 98.
I do not have the drivers for this card but have downloaded them twice off the internet and still can`t get it to install.Am wondering if their is some instructions somewhere on how to install these cards seems to me it keeps asking for files or dll that is supposed to be on the CD rom but keeps saying it isn`t there. This network card isn`t the first time I have had problems installing the adapter another one had the same problem eventually got it to install but this one have tried for days and no luck.
Why do they make the network adapter drivers so difficult to install when everything else goes so fast. The cd rom being windows 98se

When you point the search to the CDROM do you point it to the Win98 folder on the CD ?

If not it will not find the files.

For example something is looking for WXYZ.DLL on the CD.

Point to [ cdrom letter ]:\Win98

    such as D:\win98

I do point it to E:\win98 which E is my CD Rom drive and that is where the windows 98 disk is .
