I'm curious how I can get my all my programs to show up alphabetically in Start > All Programs? Right now the most- recently added program goes to the bottom of the list. Granted, they are in order at the bottom, but there is a slew of programs above it (that are also in alphabetical order), but the two groups aren't merged together. It's like two separate groups of programs & folders. (sorted A-Z then A-Z again) Why it is like this I do not know.

I think I might also like the option to list program icons and folders separately (right now they list alphabetically, meaning they are intermixed). In Win95/98 I believe the program icons were listed at the bottom of the list, while folders were listed above them.

Is there any way to do this? I would think there is, either by a registry edit or something.

    Thanks for any insight.

    Welcome to WindowsBBS. :)

Try a right mouse click in the area affected and select Sort By Name. HTH :)

This can be done with some of the tweak programs. Be sure to use with care, as they can raise havoc. Another way is to drag them in A to Z. BOB

Luga, thanks for the welcome! :) And thanks for the tip. Right-clicking while looking at the program list and then selecting 'sort by name' did the trick! (you a beginner? I don't think so ;)

Bob, thanks for the insight about dragging. Didn't know I could do that!
