Nero

After installing Nero (Version 5.5.9.14) using Windows XP, the SCAN and FAX functions of my HP-v40 all-in-one printer stopped working. The PRINT and COPY functions still work fine. I have NAV 2003 for virus protection and I reinstalled my HP-v40 software but that didn't fix the problem---any ideas?---thanks for your help, Marion McCaleb

 

I'd try updating to Nero 55.10.50, the latest update. There have lots of "fixes" since the old version you are using.

 

Pilgrim is right, ......14 was a bad one I stopped using it till the next came out.
Excellent now and I am only on 32, so Pilgrim tell me are there any good worthwile changes there to go to 40??

Well, there is a 5.10.42 version that might be still available on some sites. (you'd have to do a Google search to find it), but the latest is again, 5.10.50. Nero has continued to improve things in all areas with each release. However, I do not have a "Change History" handy to give you all the fixes, additions, etc. that have been included in the latest release.

What I do is keep a copy on a backup CD of the version I was using before upgrading so that if there is a new bug that is so bad that it makes using the program impossible or unstable, etc., I just revert back to the previous one.

Sooooo, go for it!

 

Thanks for your suggestions Pilgram and Hawk22---I uninstalled my Nero 5.5.9.14 but my HP V40 SCANNER function still wouldn't work, so my next step is to contactr HP to see if they have any ideas----best wishes, Marion McCaleb

Good Idea that is keeping a Backup of the one you have before upgrading. Must do that.
