    Hey All,

I am copying some CDs. I have several programs which will do so: Windows Media Player 9, Adaptec EZ CD Creator, CD Copier Deluxe. All of these are freebie versions. I'm having a few problems but here's my main frustration now...

Yesterday I was making a copy of a cd using WMP (1st time using it to make copies). I put my source cd in the player, opened WMP, clicked "copy from cd" and saw all of the tracks and details on the cd listed...Title, length, artist...all the info was onscreen.

I copied all of the cd tracks to a folder. WMP even automatically used the name of the cd to create the name of this folder (at least I don't remember typing it in...could be mistaken...it was my 1st time using WMP for this app). Burned the cd w/no problem.

Problem 1: I wanted to print out the playlist to put in a jewel case. Couldn't figure out an easy way to do this.

Problem 2: Now when I put the exact same original cd (not my copy) into the player, none of the album info appears. Everything is listed "track 1" "track 2 ", etc and the artist is listed as "unknown." The only info I can view is the length.

As a test, I tried 3 more cds and cannot get WMP to show and info about any tracks. This is odd because I was automatically able to see all the info before.

I have tried to view the track info using Adaptec and CD Copier but also get "unknown "

When I first used WMP to copy the origin CD to my hard drive, I viewed the files in WMP playlist and when I would "mouse over" the tracks I would get even more info (artist, composer, length, bit rate, etc). Now when I try to duplicate this with other cds (and even the same cd) I get generic track 1, 2, 3... and only "unknown" info.

    Can u help (and I know u can <g>)?

    Thanks!!!

Do you have the software that came with the CDRW hardware ?
If so try it out - some of them are a bit sensitive to third party SW.
    regards

    JCO1,
In Windows Media Player if you want to have all the Artist's
Info displayed you need to be connected to the Internet.
I think you will find that it will work then.
    good luck

I use Easy CD Creator for making jewel cases. Just connect to the internet. Not all CDs are listed. But a great many are. It saves a lot of work.
