Hi, I've been using Netscape 7.1 for a while now, especially the mail program which I like(d) alot. However, today when I launched Netscape mail it asked me to register a screen name, as if I had just installed the browser. All of my email accounts (I have 4) had disappeared from the program. This is bad enough, but because I can't see my accounts, all of the messages that I have saved have disappeared with them (I don't leave copies on the server)!

I have no idea what is going on. I didn't install a new version of Netscape recently and I have only had normal windows crashes of late (nothing out of the ordinary and nothing that should have affected Netscape, which I hardly use except for the mail utility). The only thing I did that may have had an affect was change the theme. I changed it back to modern but I still don't see my old mail configuration. Does anybody have any ideas on how to rescue my emails?

    .....?

    Welcome to the Forum, sic!

    Hi sic,

The Theme you were using may very well have caused your Mail problem, but if you have been having frequent Windows crashes, that too might have had an effect on Netscape.

Look at these workarounds: Lost Profile "¢â€¢ Mail Settings Try the listed workarounds and see if any are effective. If not then the last suggestion to create a new Profile would be your only alternative.

Please post back with any questions you may have.

    Ramona :D
