I am having a delayed typing and scrolling problem on certain sites. It is doing it right now. It also does it on ebay and juno and other sites that seem to have more things on them. If it is just a site with typing it is fine. I tried the suggestion of the autocomplete. It didn't do anything. Any more suggestions? I have a cable modem and it worked fine for a while then the past few weeks it has been bad. I have contacted the cable company and they looked on their end and it was all fine. This is very frustrating if, you can help that would be great. Oh yeh, it seemed like after I had deleted cookies and temp internet files it seemed to start doing this. Thanks for your help!!

There's some particularly nasty spyware called CoolWebSearch. It's as difficult to get rid of as it is nasty. One of the symptoms is massive IE slowdown, especially when typing text into forms.

You can read more about it and download the removal tool on this Spywareinfo page.

What is a hijacker? I am illiterate to all the lingo and phrases. How can I protect myself from this happening again? If you could explain what happened that would be very helpful. Thanks again!! We were almost going to cancel our cable modem service. Thanks again!!!:D

A browser hijacker does just that...hijacks your browser, changing its homepage or search engine or other settings, usually without your knowledge or consent.

You can read a little more about it and download Hijack Blaster on this TechTV page.
