    DONE

    Hello Westside

Thanks for the response but all that you suggest is already in place and working.

My problem is getting the `quiet' switch to work with the hypertext transfer protocols. I don't get the intended result.

    Tranquillo will know.

    Welt,

I have tested it with Mozilla 1.4 and Eudora 5.2.1. One change needs to be made for it to work...
    (use -nosplash OR -quiet)
    C:\Program Files\Netscape\Netscape7.02\Netscp.exe -nosplash -url "%1 "

Note that -nosplash is before -url. It seems to work this way... no splash screen shows up when starting netscape from eudora.

With any luck this is the solution. :)

    IT WORKED

    Hi tranquillo

I just revised the hypertext protocol lines by entering `-quiet' [no single apostrophes] BEFORE `-url' and it worked like a charm: no splash screen.

I know that both `no splash' and `quiet' are both supposed to work but for some reason, when I had `no splash' in my shortcut command lines, it didn't work. I change to `quiet' and the splash screen disappeared.

    Many thanks.

PS Did you happen to look at the set of keys that includes a mentioned of 4.79? I wonder if these kes [all in this one sector] are left overs from NS 4.79 that uninstall failed to remove. I'll not remove them 'til I'm sure.

Those seem to be left over from netscape 4.79, but there is no harm in leaving them alone if they are causing no problems. If you are comfortable editing the registry, you can just make a note of them and remove them at some later date...

    Good to hear that worked.

    :)

    SAVING CHANGES

    Hi tranquillo

A minor problem has arisen that perhaps you can resolve. The `quiet' switch that I added to the Hyper Link Protocols and that were working, simply disappeared today. I noticed the splash screen coming up when I tried to open a URL from within Windows Explorer.

I've since replaced then and clicked OK to save and they're working again but:

`Why would they suddenly disappear?' Any thoughts?

    Thanks
