Hoping this looks familiar to some of you?
The MSVCIRT.DLL file is linked to missing export MSVCRT.DLL:??_U@YAPAXI@Z

look this message is long, I've been working this situation a cpl days now.
at the end of this post is what I did prior to this stuff happening

I have no ability to use my digital capture software.(not sure what else) and finding out unable to open any software downloaded from the net ie: Instant download from software I have purchased discs and are being sent. That message on top is what I get
My reinstalling some software from disc seem to work(although unable to find my Camdedia disk) I downloaded the driver from the net.

oh yeah my printer (HP 2210 all-in-one) doesn't print, not only doesn't print but the print selection up there in file, on some applications it's naked (you know not bold font, not recognized). it does work on self diagnois. it is connected via USB not port, cables ok.

yes I have been actively working the msconfig utility

    This is my tracker message

Process Description: Win32 Kernel core component
    Process Name: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\KERNEL32.DLL
    Module Description: Unknown
    Module Name: Unknown
    Dialog Caption: Error Starting Program
Dialog Text: The MSVCIRT.DLL file is linked to missing export MSVCRT.DLL:??_U@YAPAXI@Z.

what happened? Remember Napster? My daughter (me too) but she mostly way back yrs ago she would download all these songs, ever see how much room these things take? Had them on the C drive, not going to lie and say I was succesful in burning them all, let's say I have a lot of coaters. Put them all on the D drive my 10Gig.
Used Norton unistall to remove them from C drive, I am not new to uninstall and I watched all the captures. Before you suggest I reinstall from backup uhhh. because the files were so large and hey I read all the dependencies I elected not to Back those MP3 up
:D what you never have done that? I did reinstall Twain. Thinking because I replace above all-in-one printer with a Mustek that the twain software was downloaded from and Cameda uses Twain .well it didn't help

anyway there it is. and am I glad windows didn't freeze up while typing this cause I didn't back this message either, wait..there I copied it in case ...

    Hello,

That's a typical error message when an
application needs another version of a .DLL
file(MSVCRT.DLL in your case). Usually an
    updated version is needed.
    Here you
shall find a more detailed explanation and solution.

    good luck

    Stefan

    thanks

    yes that worked

I saw this app in the program before so I did not think to reinstall, when I did try and pull it from my 98 OEM it would say wrong path. Frustration got the best of me and I would go and do other things coming back to it later. Figure after being on here 6+ yrs I would have some assemblence of exp in these matters? <sigh> :(

    Hello Stephan :)

I've almost forgotten of such problems, 'cause
my policy is to have at least 3 Ghost images
of my system at hand and when something is
wrong (it happens often) I just restore my
system from 1 of those images... and this takes
less than 5 min; anything else will take longer
and may not solve the problem(s).

    all the best

    Stefan
