This is more of an annoyance than a problem. I am running xp and every time I sign in I get the desktop and also two folders. One is a fastlane folder somehting to do with earthlink it is empty but can not delete it. I find the same folder in explorer and it has all the files in it. The other one is an ini file in notepad I deleted it from startup in explorer but it refreshes when I reboot. Does anyone hae any idea how to get rid of these. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you

A further thought - have you tried to delete the folder in Safe Mode?

Post the contents of the *.ini file here if you like - might give someone a lead on this.
