My General Tab has dissapeared under the Internet Options Menu. I have run an updated Virus scan and it came up clean. Any Ideas?

    Thanks,
    Michael

Hi - and Welcome to the Board :)

I would try a Repair of IE - which version and which OS - methods differ depending on OS.

    Go either to

Add/Remove Programs > Internet Explorer > Remove whereupon a dialogue box should appear with the option to Repair

or Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Information > Tools > IE Repair tool.

I can't be absolutely certain on this as I run XP Pro in which the method of repairing IE 6 is completely different.

    Hi

Find this key highlight generaltab R/click choose modifie
change the dword value to 0

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel]
    "GeneralTab "=dword:00000001

Most likely you have some mailware, adware, dialer or trojan , so it might change back.

You can start by installing Adaware and SpyBot, possibly Spyware Blaster to

SpywareBlaster - Prevent spyware from ever being installed!: http://www.wilderssecurity.net/spywareblaster.html

    regards
    Lonny
