I am trying to load service pack 4 onto my w2000 pro. I am currently on SP1, and need to go to at least SP2 to then be able to download blaster worm patch.

I have tried this (with real time av protection off) 3 times - it takes about 2.5 hrs on my phone line and just as it passes " creating cabinets" an error - "winlog.exe caused an error" the system does a restart and I have just wasted another 2.5 hrs

    Help.

    Thanks

    Paul.

Try downloading the SP to your hard drive and running it from there after you have the whole thing.

At best it will load fine. At worst you will have a copy so any tweaks you need to do before running it again won't require the long download after tweaking.

    Newt - Hi,

The download process I described was copying to HDD ?? - I dont get any option to location, once "save" button is clicked the procedure starts with looking at system config etc.
