Netscape 7.1 Not Responding

I am using WinXP, Earthlink DSL and have recently upgraded to Netscape 7.1. Occasionally, I now have my Mail in-box freeze up when I click on a message listing. My cursor is still moveable, but I can't activate anything with it and a message at the top of the screen says that "Netscape 7.1 is Not Responding ". So, I have to turn off the computer and reboot.
Everything returns to normal, until the next freeze attack. How can I terminate this cyber iceman?

Let's see if this will help the thaw:

With Netscape closed:
Navigate to your mail account folder and delete the Inbox.msf file. DON'T delete the Inbox file without the msf extension.

Delete the Cache Folder
Delete the history.dat file
Delete the XUL.mfl file

Open Netscape, and compact your folders.
Disable: Empty trash on exit
If you're using a Theme other than Modern, revert back to Modern

Hopefully this will help with your freezes.

Since you're having problems, I would also suggest backing up your Profiles folder often.

Let us know if you continue to have problems.

Hello Again Ramona,

I'm still having some "no response" problems with Netscape 7.1 mailbox. I followed most of your previous suggestions and I think they helped. I get 7.1 flakeout only every few days now, but it's still a nuisance. One of your suggestions was to delete "inbox.msf" file in the mail account folder. I can't find this file. I do have "inbox.snm" & "inbox ", if any of this is important. Do you have any other suggestions???
