Out of the blue my Outlook Express e-mail now asks for a password. When I type in the password it rejects it and says it has failed to connect to the server. Under Accounts,Properties,Server,it shows my correct account name and the # of dots equal to my password,so I re-type my password in,apply, but the same mask comes up requesting I enter my password in order to connect to the server. No problems with Outlook Express before. What should I do? Thanks

Sounds like your mailserver at your ISP is down. Give them a call or wait awhile and see if it comes back up.

This site may have an answer Inside Outlook Express , but Bill is probably right. I have experienced this problem and it has righted itself.

If you are running XP the number of password dots is no indication of the length of the password - XP security feature.
