Many of you have tried to help with my problem of random, inexplicable computer freezes. My T-bird kept locking up, no keyboard or mouse response at all. Sometimes it would reboot incorrectly a time or two before it started up right again. I eliminated any software sonflicts as being the problem, tried reformatting and reinstalling the OS and all the software, then began replacing hardware, piece by piece. Some people suggested a memory problem. Figuring what are the odds of 2 sticks going bad at the same time? I pulled one, then the other, still no difference in the freezes, and I couldn't rip or burn an audio cd, only data. I was advised to use the M$ tool to diagnose any memory problems. None found there. So, I am sitting here with all the peripherals unplugged, no memory problems, thinking about replacing the motherboard (an ECS K7S5A- quite controversial, apparently!) looking into the open side of it and a friend suggesting clearing CMOS. Well, why not? What could it hurt? I shut it down, unplugged it from the back, disconnected the ATX Power, and pulled off the jumper pins. I put them on the clear setting for a bit, then reconnected everything. (I also used a can of air to blow out all the crud while I was inside!) It booted with default values, and for 48 hours, I've been driving it hard, and it seems back to normal. Not even a stutter. I am grateful for all the assistance I received from everyone. I learned a lot during my search for a cure, and got a lot of good advice from people much wiser than I. I hope my experience helps someone else with a similar problem, because I was so frustrated that I considered the satisfaction of driving my truck over top of it a few times, after I retrieved it from throwing it out the window. May God bless you all, and good night.
    Cheers from OHIO

I have a K7S5A. I think your truck idea is a great one perhaps you could drive over mine and we could both derive some satisfaction from it.
